Party Manifesto

The Movement for Multi-Party Democracy (MMD) manifesto sets out a democratic programme for Zambia: constitutional rule, market reforms with social responsibility, and accountable public service.
Democratic governance. MMD commits to multi-party competition, free and fair elections, an independent judiciary, and a free press. Citizens must be able to choose leaders without intimidation.
Economic recovery. The manifesto prioritises fiscal discipline, private enterprise, agricultural productivity, and infrastructure that links farms and mines to markets.
Social investment. Education, primary health care, and clean water remain core public duties. Growth without human development is incomplete.
Unity in diversity. MMD rejects tribal politics and affirms equal citizenship for all Zambians across provinces and communities.
This page restates the classic manifesto themes presented on the original MMD website for supporters, researchers, and the public archive.
